Bought to wear in socks around the house, these shoes would be ideal for that or in public. As for legal boats, I don't know about them. I'm the exact 11.5 men's (US) regular, I bought the 11.5 and they fit great BUT there are a few things to note : 1 - The 'toe' is slightly narrower than the Nike- Comparison, which means the big toe of the liner touches the toe. 2 - NO ankle support as the fabric is canvas so you should feel almost like a slipper with easy misfitting of your shoes and ankle folded flat. If you have serious problems with the need for wide shoes, this is NOT for you. These are the moccasins to go with. Spring. moccasins. I would definitely recommend her!
