I wore the original for years so it was too short (both bristles and rubber core). I thought "Great", that looks good, I'll take that. While it works well, it's kind of a PITA. The bristles are twisted into a round steel ring. This ring snaps onto a solid rubber base. I know because I've pasted it hundreds of times. I always think I need to take the time to stick it on and get it done (the bristles stay in the ring most of the time, but occasionally get stuck and one breaks off). but when I'm done I can't and haven't worried yet. If the bristles were left it would be a 4.5 star item.
