I'll start by saying that I'm a fan of moda brushes and have a few others in my collection. I'm also a former makeup artist, so I've used a lot of different brushes over the years. So I know they are good quality and will last a long time. Also, they make them really fun and beautiful. Sometimes all you need in the morning is a little purple glitter to get you going. First, they do a good job of matching the color and applying it evenly. I used a fan brush to apply some blush (I know it's usually used for highlighters) and it picked up the color evenly at the ends of the bristles and applied it evenly too. I like fan blush brushes because I prefer a light tint on my cheeks to a full blush. So the fan brush is great. And I would like to mention that they are vegan and sometimes vegan brushes don't absorb the product as well as natural bristle brushes. But they handle it well and don't feel too synthetic. The other two brushes are fine, but the blender brush (the shorter one) just isn't dense enough to work really well with liquid foundation. I like to put a dab of foundation directly onto the brush, tap it on my face to spread it and then blend it in with the brush. I'm not a fan of using my hands for makeup. Because the brush isn't thick enough, my foundation went deeper into the stubble than I would have liked, meaning some foundation was wasted. In addition, cleaning the brush takes longer. If you want to use this with a liquid foundation, I recommend first applying the foundation to your face with your fingers and then blending it out with a brush. It will handle that just fine, but it would still be better if it was a little firmer. A denser brush will buff foundation, and you can use the tip directly on skin to do this at a 90 degree angle. But this one doesn't have enough thickness for it, so you'll have to use a lighter touch or the bristles will push to the side. The other brush, Buffer, would be better if it was bigger since it's meant to work with powder. If you're using a powder foundation, it tends to be more opaque, so you'll need a larger brush to spread it out better and apply a thin layer. You can always add more as needed, but if you have dry skin like mine, you'll want your powder to be lightly layered at first. Being a small brush this puts more powder in one spot and I feel like there is too much of it and I need to blend it more. This one definitely needs to be bigger if that's its purpose. Don't get me wrong - both big brushes really work, I just have other brushes that are better for foundation and powder. If you have other applications that you need these brush sizes for, they are definitely good quality and pick up the product easily. They also do a good job of mixing. Overall these are good quality brushes, they just didn't fit me perfectly for what they were intended for. But if you are looking for other brushes I recommend Moda as a brand as their brushes have always served me well.
