Yes, it smells really strong when you first open it, but it actually does its job well. I had mild frostbite and severe nerve pain in my legs a few months ago that would not go away. It was particularly bad when showering. This little device should really improve circulation because I can finally take a shower without my legs getting numb! Another thing to note, it doesn't stick to the textured shower floor at all. I had to put mine on the shower shelf which wasn't a big deal to me but I know it might disappoint some.
