I ordered them in burgundy which strikes me as a real red which I still prefer. They look like pink in my photos, but they are actually red. I love the general fit of the pants as my child has grown lately and all her recent 12 year old clothes fit her short or ankle length, it gets expensive to buy new clothes every two months. They're roomy without looking sloppy, but there's no drawstring waist. So if you're in between sizes like my daughter, you'll have a slightly loose fit. I don't think this will be a problem and it can probably be matched with the tank top she will be wearing underneath, she is very modest and will not wear a short dress on her own.
