Review on πŸ” Exploring Creativity: Unveiling the Popular Playthings MagSnaps Set Pieces by Brian Forbis

Mixed feelings. Best in Block Set

My sister in law bought these for my 3 year old daughter and of all our toys they DEFINITELY spend most of their time with them. My daughter absolutely loves them. She builds houses for all her little toys or makes "ice cream cones" and just enjoys them. She could play with it for hours and we have had this toy for 6 months now. The magnets in our set are pretty strong. I wouldn't call them super strong, but definitely strong enough to hold shapes and build structure. It would never have occurred to me to call them 'weak' but we didn't have any other magnetic tile sets so I have nothing to compare them to. The plastic is very durable, the colors are very beautiful. They are played on wooden tables and on the floor in our house and they don't seem to scratch surfaces. So what's the problem? Spring. Went to Revain today to get some extra sets because my daughter loves them. We love our MagSnaps and will not back down from them unless they are NOT compatible with other magnetic tile sets. MagSnap squares are SMALLER than 3x3. I would guess that 2.75 x 2.75 is enough for them not to work with other sets. If there were many other MagSnaps sets I would have no problem buying them but unfortunately there is only a set of 48 and 100 items. I really wanted to complete our collection with cars, gates, doors etc as all OTHER magnetic tile toy sets are compatible with each other but now I don't know what to do. I know my kid will love the different shapes and options, but MagSnaps doesn't make other shapes and other kits aren't compatible with ours. Should I buy all new magnetic tiles (EXPENSIVE)? Do I just buy more of the same shapes? Are we getting new kits and crossing our fingers that they are "reasonably" compatible? If I buy all new magnetic tiles, do we throw them away/donate them (seems like a waste of time)? I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do, but I'm annoyed and annoyed that I have to deal with this. It's just a frustrating situation for a parent. I understand that manufacturers want their customers to buy only THEIR product, but if they want to take that risk, they need to be given the same (or additional) options as other products. Conclusion: Great product, kid loves it, great quality but NOT compatible with other sets and limited variety of shapes/options compared to other sets.

Pros
  • LEARN BY PLAY: MagSnaps helps children develop visual discernment, critical thinking, fine motor skills, and color, shape and pattern recognition.
Cons
  • Requires socket
