Review on 🔪 Effortlessly Cut Perfect Circles with AccuQuilt GO! Fabric Cutting Dies by Amy Mcleod

Love this wool coin die

This is a great die. I use a lot of circles in my wool appliques and it's so difficult and time consuming to cut them out by hand, but the punch makes perfectly round cuts every time. I mostly use the 2 inch circle on the die. The only problem with using a wool matrix is that the wool fibers get stuck in the foam on either side of the blades, requiring you to dig them out quite often. Use a Go cutter (non-electric) and find that I only cut two layers of wool at a time (my wool is quite thick). If you are using fine wool, you can easily cut three or four layers at a time. I think so. this is due to the thickness of the wool but with a punch the cutting mat eats up completely, i just cut 50 wool pennies (circles) and although i move the mat with each cut the mat is now so chewed up that there are small bits of plastic hanging around on it (I'll use it until there's a hole in it, and then I'll probably find a way to cut out the bad parts and keep using the leftovers. I know I'm cheap and I love it!) I have this die cut also used to trim cotton for appliqué.Because the edges are trimmed so smoothly, circles are excellent for melt appliqué as well as traditional onal appliqué. Every time I use a pattern that has circles in it, I take out a tape measure and figure out what size I need, then go through my Go stamps to find one that fits. This is a huge time saver!

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket

Easy and fast for cutting circles. Saves a lot of wear and tear on my arthritic old hands.
