The fact that the laptop does not support this frequency led me to purchase a new Asus 58U router specifically so that I could have 5g connectivity. I was forced to go out and get a USB WiFi modem. I discovered Tendu U9 after reading reviews of it. Before the installation, the shop was instructed to destroy the previous built-in wifi driver; otherwise, there would be a dispute between them. Tendu was just connected to a USB 2.0 port without any other action being taken on my part. The automatic installation took just two minutes to complete. After that, a frame appeared on the top of the screen during the process of searching for Wi-Fi networks. Within this frame, you have the option of selecting either "Wireless Network" or "Wireless Network 2." The first one displays the networks that are picked up by the modem that is integrated into the computer, while the second one displays the networks that are picked up by the modem that is connected to the computer externally. I went with the second choice and connected to the 5GHz network using an external modem. There is no contention (because the built-in modem is apparently just plugged in and not connected to any router). The communication is excellent, with only one antenna needed to diminish the signal strength behind the two concrete walls. I discovered that Tenda had also gone to "sleep" after closing the lid of the laptop and opening it again an hour later. In order for the laptop to recognize Tenda once more, it was necessary to "re-plug" her, which was an inconvenience that I did not appreciate. BUT! After rummaging around in the settings of the gadget, I discovered that all that is required of you is to check the option that says "Do not turn off the power of the device." When you now open the lid of the computer, it will take one second before it establishes communication with the wireless network. I advise! Class!
