USB-C is the Thunderbolt 3 port found on newer Apple Macs. I have an older Apple Macbook Air with Thunderbolt 2 output (mini display port). I couldn't find a cable going from the mini display port to USB-C, although I did find a cable going the other way. As far as I know these cables are not bi-directional. As a result, I wasn't able to use this dock as I had hoped. Since I don't have a computer with a true USB-C output, I didn't want to risk damaging anything by connecting it to this dock. UPDATE: I was able to use this with a Dell 2-in-1 computer with USB-C ports. I was able to connect ethernet, an HDMI display, a wired keyboard, and a wired mouse and everything worked.
