I bought a couple of other compression stockings to relieve swelling after my ankle surgery, both from Amazon and in store, and returned them all. I almost gave up until I found her. The nylon material doesn't itch like the others (including the SmartWool which was a pain) and it's smooth. It doesn't have a texture that can imprint on my feet, or a cloth texture that does the same. I use them to walk, stand and sit for over 8 hours without swelling. I just bought another pair of striped ones and they are the same smooth fabric. You have some success!
