I really need lace up shoes due to bursitis and what the pediatrician calls "flexible" bones. That means I need shoes to absorb the bursitis, but I also need shoes with support. At 63, I'd rather not look like I'm wearing my mother's shoes. I was so excited when I saw these shoes. I usually wear size 9.5m but after reading other people's comments I ordered 9.5W and 10M as I wasn't sure which size to take. I keep 10M. They fit and feel fantastic. The leather is soft, but the lacing provides support and the insole cushions well. I really like these shoes. You cannot wear this style with capris or straight pants. But they look great with mid-length, regular-length trousers. These will be the shoes I wear when I go to Philadelphia where I do a lot of walking from the train station to restaurants etc. I also plan to wear them on an upcoming trip where I will be doing a lot of sightseeing, walking and standing.
