Just got it in the mail. I ordered unpadded and used 2 large cushions that took up space in the closet. Greater cushion padding could definitely have been used for added durability. The color is brown and the pieces of leather sewn together are different. There's definitely something rustic about it. Based on other reviews I was concerned that the zipper might break. My zipper works and has a large metal slider. I love that it's actually a Moroccan stool from Morocco, but who knows where the leather came from. I posted an overripe banana to the scale. All in all it came at the right time and at a reasonable price for real leather.
