I buy most of my lenses. I bought it as an open box. Put simply. My favorite lens. As another said, the only thing missing is macro photography, and for that I have a 45mm lens. I never imagined that I would have two near-lunar focal length lenses, which I often use both. Let's get back to Nocticron. This is the fastest focusing lens I have ever used. I use manual focus in low light and the GH5 can see in the dark. That would be a good lens for a private investigator. The autofocus is the best of all my lenses. Focusing is so fast it's unbelievable. I rarely use "normal" lenses. I prefer a wider or longer angle like this, which is equivalent to 85mm FF. This is Fanta for portraits and candid photography. With the title screen on my GH5, people think I'm fumbling with settings instead of talking about photos. The sharpness is amazing. I think you could find a sharper lens, but it's 4-10x the cost. Optically, this is the sharpest MFT lens you can mount on a Panasonic body. Unfortunately, testers often use Olympus cameras, so they don't rate them as highly as they should. Speed: F/1.2 is bright and sharp around the edges, much better than the competition. Image stabilization (IBIS) means you can take amazing photos at night. The f/1. 2 aperture brings this iconic lens closer to the Leica Noctilux, which is slightly faster and costs $10,000. You get almost the same lens for 1/10th the price - just over $1,000. Panasonic and Olympus make other excellent lenses of the same focal length that are smaller and lighter, but in no way compare to this lens in terms of quality. It is so good. And it's affordable for what you get. Each of the Panasonic Leica lenses is of fantastic quality. I know because I have most of them and plan to buy the rest while turning down their other offers. I also use it on my GH85 body and it works amazingly well on this image stabilized body too.
