Now living with my son for health reasons I needed a desk for a very small space (32-36 inches). WX 20"D) and this desk is perfect. I placed the desk about 2" from the wall, placed my laptop on a 2" cutting board with the back against the wall and left enough room for my external keyboard .and mouse Other desk organizers fit both sides of my laptop. My wheelchair serves as my work chair. Just pull out the front section. My sister-in-law assembled the desk herself to surprise me, so it didn't take long. I like the drawers, because they're actually cloth baskets!They're sturdy enough to hold decent-sized organizers, but won't hold a lot of heavier things like groups of staplers, tape dispensers, and study guides, but for an away-from-home writer, it's perfect.I noticed that the left side panel, which also serves as the table's "leg" and is made of chipboard (like the entire table body), is slightly curved Covering the table with a table top because 24" x 40" tempered glass, I had to add something as stabilizers in strategic places - nothing special. Just some wood glue, some 1" x 2" wood supports and some good old dowels and some corner brackets. This "as is" table has a weight limit of 20 pounds. The glass top (itself a former desktop) weighs more, but strengthening its weak points worked great for me. The great thing about this chart is that you CAN change it, but if you make a mistake, you're not out of luck. Even if it's not stock, this is a nice little table as long as you don't overuse it and don't get too frustrated assembling it. I'm giving one to my 9 year old grandson for Christmas. The photo shows the initial installation without the glass cover. UPDATE: My laptop is dead so my next install will include a pretty big desktop monitor!
