I'm a big fan of Logitech and their products, so I had no doubts about buying this controller. Once you get it up and running the controller looks great and has a lot of built-in features that I love. The problem is getting it to work. I was running Windows 8.1 and now Windows 10. Getting the computer to recognize and pair with the controller was a big problem. The short story is, go to [.] and watch the video, follow the instructions. After 5 minutes my controller started working. This compares to the 2 hours I spent on the phone with Logitech, they sent me a new USB pairing sensor and still no solution. The long story is that since Windows 8, Logitech no longer offers driver support for this controller. Not only that, but their support department will walk you through a series of troubleshooting steps that will lead you to believe that your computer is the problem. It's not like this. The video link posted is the only solution I found that works. Basically, you have to trick the computer into thinking it's an Xbox controller in order for it to pair. Once that's done, it will show up as an f710 controller as intended. I've had to use this technique a few times as it sometimes fails again with OS pairing updates. Another issue with this controller is that it randomly loses connection, causing input lag. The solution is often as simple as changing your body position by a few inches. This inconsistency in input makes the controller terrible for tournament or split-second use. For this reason I am looking for a new controller. Here are the pluses: - Fits well in the hand and is very comfortable for long gaming sessions. If you're a fan of double whammy controllers, you know what I mean. - Has a good weight, feels good in the hand. - The mode button with indicator light is a big plus. Allows quick switching of D-Pad input to left analog stick with visual indicator. - All key inputs have good springiness, nothing feels soft. - 2 vibration settings, although none of them are strong enough for my liking. - Two AA batteries last a long time. The downside is that there is no indicator of when they will die. This is by no means a terrible controller. If you don't mind putting up with his quirks. I really wish Logitech would still release the f510 as it was the wired version of this controller. F310 connected but no hum. The occasional loss of wireless signal finally pushed me to the limit after owning it for over a year. Most importantly, bookmark the YouTube video [.] if you decide to purchase this controller as I guarantee you will need this solution if the controller won't connect to your Windows 8 or 10 computers can produce.
