It was such a great purchase! I bought another brand and couldn't open it with a button/zip and couldn't move my shoulders forward. This coat is so roomy. I would order your normal size. I'd say it's a little larger than the size would suggest, but I assume you can wear sweaters and sweatshirts comfortably underneath. I love bags! They are so roomy and the front zip pockets to keep your keys, money etc from falling out. Inside there is a very spacious compartment for wallet and mobile phone. The thumb holes on the cuffs are an added bonus. They help warm your hands if you forgot your gloves. It's very, very warm. It has just the right amount of toppings. I'm obviously a tall woman (4X) and was afraid to buy a winter coat for fear of looking like a Michelin tire changer. Not this coat. Thanks for such a great coat!
