He couldn't stand the weather.
I installed it in the driveway, not for cars, instead I used it to let me know when the dogs emerge the ramp to enter the house. That would let me know when they climbed the ladder. But the ringing didn't stop. I read and re-read the instructions, I tried everything but it didn't work, then I realized that the rain was seeping into the outdoor motion sensor. So I chalked it up as a lesson learned.
