I've only taken a few hundred shots with the new lens so far, but I can comment on the observations. It appears to be a lens that delivers sharp images with good color reproduction. I've noticed how little barrel distortion there is in the landscape photos I took. Horizons look surprisingly good. If you like photographing solar flares you get very nice crisp flares, I guess 18 points. However, it's a bit tricky when it comes to making torches. It sounds contradictory, but good sunrays can be achieved under the right conditions. I have two cameras, 70D and 60D. The 70D kept throwing an error code so put it on the 60D and it works great in this case. I read some comments about the weight of the lens. It's a beefy lens with a solid build, nothing like the kit lens that comes with the new camera, but worth the extra ounces in my opinion. I chose the Tokina over the Canon 10-18 because of the 2.8 aperture. Looking forward to trying it out for night photography.
