Review on πŸ’¦ Efficient Culligan WHR-140 WTR Filtration Cartridge Replacement - 1 Count Pack (White) by Andy Quade

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The chlorine content does not decrease.

I've been using the filter for a little over a year and my wife and I haven't noticed any difference in my skin or hair. I used the pool water test kit on two different filters and did not measure the difference in free chlorine levels with and without the filter. Our city water is tested straight from the tap for normal chlorine levels for pool use. The measurements I took were taken after 2-5 days of normal use. I have also used spa water test strips to test after installing a new filter cartridge. There was also no decrease in chlorine content. To confirm the test, I also tested filtered drinking water and distilled water. Filtered drinking water showed a decrease in chlorine and distilled water showed no chlorine, as expected. I guess the tests Calligan uses are more complex and accurate, but I don't see a reduction in chlorine. During testing, I noticed that the pH is at least 8.2, so our water is pretty alkaline. This can be a more important factor than chlorine in our perception of water quality. I don't know if high pH can affect chlorine levels. Based on my experience, I have no plans to purchase additional filters.
