Do yourself a favor: have cut-resistant gloves and a rubber mallet ready before trying this product. Sure, there are gloves and a mallet, but make your life easier (and safer) by using your own tools and personal protective equipment. Besides that, if you do this with two people on the assembly line, you'll save a lot of time. and disappointment. As others have pointed out, there are many, many parts that don't quite fit together (hence the rubber mallet!). When everything is ready, it turns out a pretty decent vertical design. Basically holds 2 pairs of shoes per shelf which for me helped keep my shoes a little more organized. Was the tedious assembly worth it? I'd like to think so, but would have preferred fewer parts or if there had been pre-assembly out of the box. sweet added bonus.
