Far exceeded my expectations!

An old man cleans his 50 year old bike to ride it again after a 30 year break. Yes, I don't need all those front/rear AA bulbs. Get something new. But what? Autonomous? No, it's too complicated. But you don't have to charge it before every (however short) ride! After some searching and thinking I bought this BikeSpark auto-sensing rear light. This is exactly what I have always needed, even when the bike was new! Installation was the hardest part. Many headlights (and another version of them) attach to the seatpost, but I have a bag in there. My C-pillar only has one reflector hole, but it seemed wide enough. So I measured a little, grabbed a drill and installed it pretty easily with just a couple of holes. Compare your rack with the specified distance. The lighting is bright enough for my road bike rides in the area. I still stay off the main roads as I have no current cycling experience and years of idiotic driving experience. But the roads in the area are hilly and winding (unlike my teenage years) and I wanted people to see the old fool before they run over him. I'm sure there's enough light for future traffic robberies. I haven't used any settings other than strobe, but they're easy to select. The coolest thing (and the reason I bought it) is the brake light: it works! And I love that I don't have to turn off the device and remember to turn it on because when it's idle it will turn itself off and restart for the next ride. I am very happy with it, the first taillight I have. (On the other hand, I've just bought my first helmet, headlight, etc.) So I'm really hoping this little beauty will help me not get overwhelmed by someone else's inattention (as opposed to my own)!

Pros
  • Sports and outdoor activities
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
