This is the second Peak Design product that I have purchased. I bought their V1 Everyday Backpack about a month ago and was so impressed with the quality, functionality and thoughtful design that I wanted to see what their other products are like. I usually hate camera straps, but I think my dislike stems from poorly designed and uncomfortable "first batch" straps. Straps I still didn't like a few things about it. I realized that the Slide Lite strap was priced right, so I gave it a try, expecting that the quality and design could persuade me to use it regularly/frequently. I was correct in that assumption. This is a well built strap, versatile and effective. It's not perfect and my only complaint is that I think it takes a star off, but it's almost perfect for me and my needs. I configured the Slide Lite and anchors to carry over the shoulder. One anchorage to the left of the camera body and one to the right of the Peak Design tripod plate. (Okay, this is technically my third Peak Design product. I bought the plate too. It's great too.) I adjust it to attach to my right thigh, with the first adjustment buckle right on my chest . It's incredibly easy to take the buckle, "unbuckle" it, and lengthen or shorten the strap as needed. It's a smooth and durable material, not unlike a seat belt. In fact, I would prefer to make seat belts out of this material. There is a rubberized/grippy coating on one side to allow it to be folded over and the strap won't ride up over your clothes as much. That would be nice if you wanted the camera and strap to remain "more static" and less wobbly. Let's say you're climbing over rocks or something to find the perfect angle of this waterfall and you don't want the camera to shake a lot. Pull the strap snugly against your body and turn it around. The strap does not slip and the camera is pressed against the body; BOOM: safer. So my only complaint here has to do with the anchors and where they should be deployed. You are a bit difficult to put on and take off with this strap. There isn't much room between the actual webbing material and the anchor's "hook" to mount an anchor washer. I mean it definitely FITS, just an extra 5mm of clearance would make getting in and out easier. hurry up. The Everyday Backpack I bought came with a keychain and an anchor for your keychain, so I was already familiar with the system. The keychain has a much larger area on the "hook" to secure the anchor inside and it's effortless. In fact, the belt itself sits JUST ABOVE where the anchor plate should be inserted into the slot and fits snugly. I uploaded some pictures to better understand my stupid explanation. The downside to this is that the original Slide strap has a wider anchor plate area, but I wanted the smaller Slide Lite strap since I carry a mirrorless camera. My only complaint is still not enough to dissuade me from using the strap. As silly as it sounds, using this strap has allowed me to take photos that I wouldn't normally take because it's lightweight and comfortable to wear. My camera is more accessible hanging around me than in my backpack.
