So I read many reviews about this type of product before ordering one and hesitated because many had bad reviews. I don't exactly remember they were all on this particular product, but I will say it's exactly what I expected. It looked exactly like the pictures (mine is silver) and installed exactly as expected. The problem I suspect most people are having is related to the wiring part. You should have a drill that can drill a good sized hole for the plastic fasteners if you want to use the fasteners that will make them strongest. I've used them in drywall with no studs on the backing and they seem a lot stronger than they should be so honestly you can just use the screws that come with the kit to drive them into the drywall. Which attachment method you choose is up to you, but I think a drill is very important. It came with screws and fasteners and looks exactly as it should. The quality of the material itself is kind of metal. When properly installed, it's far stronger than the amount of mail you'd ever put in or hang from it. Now I have several envelopes. But my umbrella, harness and leash are attached to him and everything is fine. It looks good and now I can ignore my mail for weeks. One note I would like to make about the sizing is that I wish it was just bigger, but I didn't give a star for that because the measurements are given. I rarely look at them on Amazon and sometimes I get very small toothpaste tubes out of laziness.
