Nice try but not real

I installed about 20 of these lights in my new home. but i have to say i am disappointed. I had an electrician pull out the dimmers for a few hundred bucks because those bulbs go crazy with dimmers. However, lightbulbs sometimes do what they want. I contacted Cree Lighting about my current issues but no response after a month. So don't expect customer support here. And if you have a problem you can't contact them through Amazon, you have to find their website and do it that way. But either way, you can send a carrier pigeon to Antarctica with the same result: none. I hardly ever write these comments - only when it's really bad - so this time I have to. I really liked the idea of their "Follow the Sun" cycle to allow me to get more natural light into the house since the windows don't get enough sunlight. And when the light works, the quality of the light itself is excellent. But when you turn on the light, for example, it starts working with the last preset they had when you turned them off. As a result, it sometimes takes up to a minute for them to switch to the setting that should be activated. So the midday light starts at 2.7 Kelvin (like the candlelight from the night setting earlier) and then suddenly changes to 6500 Kelvin. (Bright sunlight). Sometimes there is only one bulb left in the old setup and you may need to reset it. This is not fun. If you have 9 bulbs in a group, you need to unscrew the "broken" one and screw it into a separate socket to reset (cycle off and on 4 times, then relearn the lost pattern. If you put this into the original position, all nine lamps need to be reprogrammed). I was really dying to try these bulbs as I needed a daylight/candle light switch for my house but Cree is not responding I really can't take it and have to write it here as a complaint. I spent over $400 on this experiment and am not at all happy with the result. Can't say if more expensive brands are better, I'm done with smart bulbs for now. (And I'm a techie, I work as an engineer.) Sorry Cree lighting - you had your chance. I really like "alternative brands" but Philips and other big companies have much better customer support than you. (Thank goodness you guys don't make electric toothbrushes.)
