With so many devices going from USB Type B to USB Type C, including the new smartphone I just got, it's time to get rid of long cables and they plug into the USB/AC multiple socket on the bar. This allows my wife's phone, my phone and the bluetooth car phone adapter to connect to our wireless desk phone/answering machine. No tangles of long cables getting in the way. If you need to be more organized in a smaller space, that's great!
