I bought a device to get rid of typical basement smells and we got a lot more. I ran the unit in the basement as instructed the first night we received it (Friday night). After about an hour I went back to the basement to see how it works and it had a different smell, I would guess it was the smell of ozone the unit is putting off. That night my wife and I went to bed and on Saturday morning she and I woke up with shortness of breath, headache and chest pain. I got up because I didn't understand why I felt this way. I thought maybe we had some kind of gas leak because they were both very lethargic and thought we might throw up or pass out. We both lay outside for a couple of hours to get some fresh air and find out what was going on. I've been surfing the web to see if the 'air purifier' I just received might have something to do with it. I've read several reports that ozone cleaners can cause the same symptoms we do. Some reports said it could have even more serious consequences than just an illness. After reading the reports, I removed the device and opened all the windows in the house to get some air. My wife and I started to feel better that night. So I'm only writing this review to let others know about our experience and to warn you to use with extreme caution. If you have young children I would not recommend ozone purifiers at all. Make sure you do more research than I do before buying an air purifier for your home.
