This Bestek Surge Protector is perfect for my needs and has worked great so far. I don't know if the 4000J estimate is correct and I hope I never have to find out. Still, it's nice to know it exists. I focus on construction, design and functions. I think this is a winner for me on all three counts. Here are things like about this power strip: + Indicator lights for grounding and surge protection status. random+ Two 2.4A USB ports are conveniently located, saving the need to use a separate charging plug!+ Cable TV/Antenna surge protection F-connector is a plus, but I don't use+ Phone line protection 1 of 2 outputs is also a plus, but one I don't use (my VOIP phones) + I like two widely spaced outlets for the inevitable power adapters + 10 ports provide plenty of power connections for tech + 6ft power cord allows for flexible placement + Right-angle plug allows for a low profile compared to the wall, but may limit which socket you can use + Two-sided slots are located on the back, perfect for mounting on the wall or on the side of a table/cabinet + Non-scratch rubber feet to protect the surface of the floor or desk What do I still want to see? Just one thing: a switch to disable the USB charger independently from the rest of the band. Hardly worth mentioning. I think this is a very well made extension that feels solid, with a thoughtful design that allows for very flexible placement and/or mounting. I'm not using CATV/Antenna or phone protection but I think it's a smart inclusion. The inclusion of two USB charging ports saves me from having to use an outlet for a separate USB charger, almost like an extra plug! With this tape I was able to replace 2 x 6 outlet tapes and get rid of the separate USB charger. Of course I give this really good surge protector extension cable 5 stars! Great for those with a lot of tech or home entertainment.
