These all worked as they are supposed to.They are inexpensive compasses.and are not gimbaled so must be held flat horizontally to work properly.lack of gimbal makes them flat and easy to put on a watch strap.or anything else you can think of. I will have one on every rifle sling and backpack and in 1st aid kits.just in case.A useful item if you know how to use one
