Perfect solution. I love watching squirrels trying to get around a new barrier. They climb the smooth tubular metal column like a branch, then penetrate the torpedo's interior, turn around, try to cling to its slippery surface, but the moving lower end startles them (hinges on the mounting clip in the cone area). . . Our bird feeder is mounted about 7 feet off the ground on a 1 inch diameter EMT tube. The included rack clip fits right after removing the two small screw standoffs (required for smaller diameter bars). So far I'm impressed. Now there is enough feed for birds for almost a week, while before there were only 2-3 days between replenishments.
