Few power supply options are available in the SFX form factor. The PSU in my desktop computer was quite noisy, the fan worked fine, it just ran at high speed all the time even though the load was light (less than 100 watts). I installed it a few months ago and it's much quieter and I haven't had any issues with it. With a watt meter it also uses less power than it used to, so it's definitely a more efficient power supply than the old one I replaced.
