Ok so I bought this one because I wanted to try it for my 2 year old daughter. I read the reviews and thought I'd give it a try anyway. Yes they are medium hard but they are not like normal toothbrush bristles, they are more like a plastic rubber, it's hard to explain. This is the only reason I give this 4 stars because the bristles are not what I expected. She let me brush my teeth No problem, it takes a few minutes to get used to it by pressing on her teeth. For the money you get with these toothbrushes it's worth it because with kids they throw them in the toilet and on the floor and you throw them away when my daughter stops using it I'll buy it more expensive but for now it works Well
