we have a tough reversible yeti and we got it because we wanted something less heavy. Although this cooler is very durable, it is very difficult to hit. Even with zipper lube, the zipper is difficult to open, especially in our canoe and small boat when the angle we're pulling from isn't straight. Once you open it, it's very difficult to reach - the top doesn't open far enough - and we have to scrape the zip to get drinks - unless you have three hands - two to keep it open, one to drink. which also makes it difficult to dry after use - we have to prop it up with a boot or something and even then it's just not designed to drain/dry easily. very disappointed. For that amount of money, they could have avoided these problems. Other than that it's a very nice and sturdy cooler - we've had it for a few months now and we carry it around everywhere and use it at least twice a week. Unfortunately it is too late for a return. we would if we could! As far as cooling goes, it's no better or worse than our cheap coolers. We live in the south and the summers are hot and we keep it in the sun when we fish so we really needed a superfood cooler and we hoped this was it. no I will use it because we bought it, but other than that the yeti (hardboard) is what we use when not in a canoe. sigh. Maybe there is no such thing as a perfect cooler. - A nice touch is the outside zip pocket - it stays cool enough to keep my sunscreen, lip balm and phone from melting while not getting cold. At least they got that right.
