Review on USB-1 Music Hall Record Turntable by Justin Bradford

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Highly recommended for copying old vinyl records to digital formats

Unpacking was easy and I was able to assemble the turntable without even consulting the instructions. The only things I checked from the instructions were the arm balance and tracking settings and the position of the preamp switch on the back panel. Once set up I was able to rip vinyl to WAV and then to FLAC for use with two of my portable music players. The sound quality was excellent, and the software you install on your computer to rip Audacity is easy to learn with the basic instructions that come with it and a little fiddling around. If you're a vintage jazz lover like me and have trouble finding everything you love remastered on a modern CD, then this player is the way to go and I highly recommend it. The only thing I haven't tried in this process is removing the clicks because I'm concerned that this will degrade the excellent sound quality of the player, and some clicks are normal on vinyl anyway. We're all obsessed with perfection, gosh, just enjoy the music. Nothing is perfect. Curse!

Pros
  • Sturdy build
Cons
  • Some little things
