Great buy for turntable

My Marantz turntable needed to be replaced. After researching as many turntables as possible, I decided to purchase the Music Hall USB1. Very pretty and well made. I didn't like the cartridge that came with it. I replaced it with a Shure cartridge that came with my Marantz. I grew up in the LP era and this is one of the best cartridges I have ever owned.

My old records sound great, exceeding expectations

Item was easy to install and plays great. I go back to the late 60's with vinyl and most of my collection consists of records from my teenage years. I connected it to my 10 channel realistic graphic equalizer. It took about an hour to set everything up, including adjusting the equalizer, to get the right sound for my office speakers, but the sound quality is amazing. It was also easy to put together if you were willing to be patient and follow the instructions. . I noticed most of the negative…

Highly recommended for copying old vinyl records to digital formats

Unpacking was easy and I was able to assemble the turntable without even consulting the instructions. The only things I checked from the instructions were the arm balance and tracking settings and the position of the preamp switch on the back panel. Once set up I was able to rip vinyl to WAV and then to FLAC for use with two of my portable music players. The sound quality was excellent, and the software you install on your computer to rip Audacity is easy to learn with the basic instructions…

Subtle sound even with upgraded pickup

I read the reviews and thought it would be a good replacement for my Technics SLBD20D which has gone out of service after decades. It's a fairly well-made unit, but I find the sound thin and lacking in mid-range depth, no matter what output is used, or even after upgrading to an Ortofon 2M Red MM cartridge. Budget turntables, I still have some technical frustrations. It arrived with the fine speed control significantly disabled and had to use the top "DJ" speed control off center by about 25%…

Tons of research, Musical Hall is the clear winner!

I spent countless hours researching turntables before settling on the Music Hall USB-1. The main reason I chose Music Hall was the great reviews, or rather no bad reviews compared to other turntables in this price range. Another requirement was that it had to fit my entertainment center, which was only 18 3/8 inches wide. While the included Audio Technica cartridge fits, at this price point it would have been nice to have included an AT95e, but following the advice of another reviewer I set the

Very good player with rich sound from more expensive devices

In my opinion, the Music Hall USB-1 surpasses every other player in this price range. First, it was packaged very securely and neatly. there was a breeze. The instructions were pretty clear on how to do it. It produces a very clean and clear sound from my 45 year old vinyl albums. Easily adjust tracking, pitch, anti-skating and turntable speed. -shaped tonearm and cartridge (Audio Technica). (There is even room for an extra cartridge on board). Connections: USB is always on, so you can easily…
