To give this report a little more structure, I will cover my experiences from start to finish. now. I was considering purchasing this item for one reason: shipping and handling costs. About six dollars. Not bad, but because I wanted two to start, then the shipping cost doubled for some reason. and increase the shipping cost more the more you get. (If you want ten, delivery costs about 60). Maybe I'm a little spoiled by Amazon Prime, but that seems excessive for the size of the item. Once the decision to purchase the product was made, the estimated shipping and delivery time was 4-14 days. Which is usually LONG for me. It was delivered from somewhere in New York to my residence in New Mexico in two days. Maybe the shipping costs were worth it? :) Now I have a product. The box itself is about half the size of a standard 400-page spiral notebook. The instructions are printed on the "lid" of the box and are not confusing, but rather described as odd in my opinion. Inside the box are: the device itself, 100 feet of black suture thread, two 4 foot lengths of approx. According to the sticker on the box, my chemical lantern expired on 09/2011. Which contributed to the loss of a star. Since the instructions seemed odd to me, I'll point out what each item in the box is for or what I learned from my testing. 1: The current picture is that Amazon shows the device upside down! Look closely at the bottom of the circuit in the picture and you will see an arrow pointing "this end up". It doesn't actually say it, but it says "UP" next to the arrow. 2: The rope is the actual tip to activate the device 3: The wire is for attaching the device to the platform Like wood or 2x4.4: The instructions don't actually mention a U-bolt at all. It is used to attach a tether to the opposite end of the device, e.g. B. on a second tree or a second 2x4.5: When the device is upright, the chemical lantern simply falls/slides into the latches. This is where I got confused. I placed the thinner end of the chemical in the bottom holder and then tried to "wrap" the thicker end into the top holder. This contraction effectively activated the "expired" chemical light. To be honest, it surprised me. I'm used to those cheap 4 inch chemical lanterns that once you crack them open you have to shake them to get full illumination. Here you can actually see the chemicals mixing to create the light and it was very bright. if you add cream to the coffee. By the way, this device only works with 6 inch chemistry lamps. Now to the actual functionality of the device. (so far) I've armed and activated it twice (no chemistry) and it worked fine. The third time it was switched on and activated (again without chemicals), the spring detached from the base plate. The end of the spring attached to the firing pin is held in place. After using a lot of force to reattach the spring to the base plate, it worked again (this happened 3 times!). I recommend clamping the ends of the spring absolutely closed. Thoughts on some more functionality but not tested yet. What I really love about this item is that even though the packaging says 'disposable', EVERYTHING but disposable is! Not just exposed to lightning. It's advertised as a sort of silent alarm clock, but tying a sound generator (tin cans, bells) to the striker makes it audible and visible in creative use. The spring has enough tension to be used as a spring trap to catch small animals. Can be used as an automatic fishing reel when you find a suitable flow. While there were some growth issues, there was nothing to break the deal. This is a product that I am completely satisfied with. I hope I was able to save you some frustration! I have told many people about this product and will continue to do so. Thank you for reading! PS If you have any questions, I will reply as soon as possible!
