Review on Airo Comfort Portable Conditioner 000BTU by Julie Henderson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Error E2 after 1 week

I researched many air conditioners and this one had the most stars and the best ratings. It sounded great so I ordered it. It took a long time to deliver (don't count on your usual prime time). Followed all the instructions and had it hooked up in 10 minutes with the included window kit. The remote doesn't have a backlight so I didn't see it at night. I had to use my phone's flashlight to know what I was pressing. The device worked perfectly for 6 days. Then it stopped and showed error E2 on the display. I read the instructions, it says you need to drain the water. It sounded simple enough, but there is VERY little space underneath the unit, and no pan would fit under it. So I rolled it up the stairs and put the bucket down on the next step. He barely drained an ounce. When I rolled it back I found that the entire area where it was installed was completely soaked! Moved the device a few feet, turned it back on and it worked for another 15 minutes, then the same E2 error. I did the same thing again to get the water out and wet the carpet back where it was. I called support. The lady was lovely and tried hard to be helpful and gave me her personal cell phone to send messages with her pictures and updates which I appreciate very much. However, there was a language barrier because she had just moved to the US and was still learning English. She sent me videos of things I had already tried, but repeated them to fit her troubleshooting steps. Powered unit back on, lasted 10 minutes, then E2 error again. My carpet is completely soaked and it's gonna be high in the 90's again. Our central air conditioning went out 2 weeks ago so we really need it. I may have just gotten a lemon from a batch, but for almost $500 I can't make lemonade out of it. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this product and am returning it today. UPDATE #1: I got a call today from a friendly representative who said the techs say not to do this so they're sending me a new one. I hope it arrives quickly because it costs £100 and our central air conditioning broke so we relied on it to keep us cool. I will update after I get a new one. I'm all for giving a second chance. UPDATE #2 - I found out the unit won't ship from California until Monday. I just couldn't wait that long. I went ahead and bought another Toshiba unit at my local hardware store, picked it up, brought it home, set it up and it works great. UPS will pick it up tomorrow and bring it back. If you buy this, keep the packaging in case you need to return it.
