I'm sure it's great for diffusing essential oils (haven't tried it) but it's definitely not a humidifier. If you have a very small room with no holes, the steam will not create enough steam to humidify the room. I used this in the master bedroom with the doors and windows closed with a humidity sensor. It didn't show the humidity in the room moving even an inch. The warm shower in the master bathroom did more for the humidity in the room than this humidifier. Not recommended for use as a moisturizer.
