I bought 5 of these candles in addition to the candles I've been using for years because some reviews indicated they had a 'white' flame. They are NOT - it's a harsh, ugly dark orange. I love the vibe of the softly flickering white flames in the old candles that use two C-cell batteries that would easily last an entire season (about six weeks, starting right after Thanksgiving when I put them in and ending after the New Years) . The terrible orange flame is in complete contrast to the soft white flame of my old candles. Also, these candles run on 2 AA batteries which, as stated in the description, have a lifespan of "up to" 20 days, meaning all batteries will need to be replaced the week before Christmas (which is a blessing can be ). These candles will be placed in the windows at the back of the house where hopefully only squirrels and raccoons will see them. I'm looking for new bulbs, but it looks like the bulbs aren't replaceable.
