All three boxes came fully cured. The clay in the boxes was not wrapped in plastic, so it's possible that the individual boxes themselves drew oils from the clay. I tried chipping a small piece of clay off the corner of the block and it was very brittle and had no ductility. I trust the Sculpey brand as many of the sculptors I watch on youtube use them. Maybe I just had a bad batch? Maybe he was just very old? In any case, the sound must be checked before shipment. (And no, it couldn't be saved with baby oil or any other substance. It would be like mixing completely dry flakes of clay with oil. I think it would take several hours, which is not the purpose of this product and not worth the price , if I need to condition it with my own oils.)
