Koss Pathfinder or Koss The Plug They are both great in terms of depth of sound (good bass), durability, comfort and materials of construction. Pathfinder added a volume control, which is useful when I'm running various personal errands around town, but it's so far away on a long cord that it sits on my lap, which is uncomfortable, and if I don't remember, when I'm seated (e.g. on the subway) the volume switch goes astray. Eventually it becomes useless to me (or breaks) and I tape the lever to keep it from shifting. I then switched back to The Plug, which sounds just as great without the volume control. But they're both great and well rated for sound quality. I like the long cord. As with The Plug, the cable is covered with rubber. Color doesn't matter, but personally I like white.
