I don't have ankles where calves and legs meet. There is clarity between my calf and my ankle. i'm just bigger And while I know I need to lose weight to be healthy, I still want to look beautiful and not feel punished by dress and shoe manufacturers for being a big girl. So I used these rings to extend the ankle strap of my sandals so I could wear cute styles with straps that don't usually fit! I found the cutest sandals from Minnetonka in an 8 1/2 width. They had a very small ankle strap. (Why don't manufacturers take into account that if a person buys a wide width shoe, they might also have a wider ankle to fit! I know this isn't always the case, but why don't they include some kind of extension? ), the shoe fit perfectly but the strap didn't wrap around my ankle. I wrote to Minnetonka to inquire about the extender (and to explain the plight of plus-girls with big feet!), and the rep replied that "they referred me to product development." After that, I never heard an answer from the soul. But do you know what happened? They added me to their email list so I could start getting spammed! I tried to order a replacement ankle strap from Revain in the matching color but when it arrived it looked very tatty and didn't work with the velcro that was already on the shoe. Then I found this one! And voila! My problem is solved. I've attached an image so you can see what I did. Now I could probably spice up these rings a bit more by adding some decorative beads. I could also use wire cutters and remove the original pieces so the rings lay flatter on my ankle, but as I'll probably be wearing them primarily with jeans I'm not worried about that. However, I think it looks pretty damn good for a quick fix! (If only I hadn't given away my cute black Skechers ankle strap flats. The straps almost fit. One ring per boot would have fixed the situation. The black rings in this set would be perfect!)
