Review on Globon Winter White Goose Down Comforter Queen Size: 100% Cotton Shell, Corner Tabs, 50 OZ Down Duvet Insert - White by Cara Ruiz

Based on positive feedback on this blanket we purchased a Globon winter weight. At first glance, the comforter seemed to tick all of our boxes: a good amount of down (60 ounces, but light); the website states that it has been manufactured in accordance with the Responsible Down Standard (RDS); soft, comfortable cover that seems thick enough to keep the fluff from leaking out; and no "noise" when shutting down. But here's the problem: initially we didn't even notice the smell of down/wild. We left the duvet unwrapped/opened to make sure it was fluffy (which it was) but then it smelled faintly of down/wild. We hoped it would go away in a few days, but it didn't; In fact, the smell got stronger. Also, we noticed that there is no RDS certified label attached to the blanket, which makes us wonder if the blanket is actually RDS certified. We're sending the blanket back.
