Objectively these are absolutely amazing speakers for the price. First of all, as these are budget speakers, it seems appropriate to write this review based on my experience with them. in the budget system. I ordered two of these center channel speakers and am using them in my stereo setup. I use my computer's DAC and connect it to an SMSL SA-50 stereo amplifier to power these speakers. They are much more efficient than RB42. RB42 is rated at 83 dB; these speakers, RB42-C, have a noise level of 86 dB. For reference, the RB42 requires twice the power to play at the same volume as these. This makes it much easier to work with amps under 75 watts per channel and much less anemic at low frequencies. in the sub-bass range. Instrumental parts sound clear at any volume. The vocals are also open and clean; I would say switch to transparent. At least more transparent than any speaker in this price range that you don't have to assemble yourself. However, the vocals are a bit more muted than the instrumentals. That's not bad, and Mikka even describes these speakers as such; they are warm speakers, so of course they will sound that way. That being said, my bias leads me to prefer sizzling speakers. I really like the S and T accents in singers' voices, and I prefer front-firing speakers because they're really good at just tearing the record apart and showing me how good the quality of the record is. If you're looking for piercing vocals, this might not be for you. Well, these are definitely speakers for small to medium sized rooms. My bedroom is about 14 feet by 14 feet, which I consider the smaller side of medium-sized rooms. Roughly 20 feet by 20 feet is where you really get into the big spaces these speakers struggle to fill. or 20sqm In my room smaller than this is not a problem and they sound great. If you are looking for speakers for a room my size at this price then just buy these speakers because they are damn good. I have never heard in my life. Let's set the stage. I received one of my two speakers a few hours before the other. I immediately installed this single speaker in my living room and played it without a subwoofer. After putting about 20-30 watts into it, I seriously thought it was broken. At first I thought that one of the two woofers had already started rubbing against the coil. The second speaker arrived and made the same noise! The stats say it's unlikely there are two DOA speakers, so I investigated further. It turns out that the connectors on these speakers are really loud at parlor volume and they'll ruin music and movies with any signal below the mid-range, so you're better off setting the crossover to around 80 hertz and letting everything below send to the sub . Overall: These are damn great speakers. Especially in this price range. I've heard $300 and $400 speakers that just can't compete with the RB42-C in terms of transparency. Vocals and instrumentals are clean. They are easy to listen to and make me want to listen to my collection again to hear how beautiful the piano and female vocals are. They cost $200 for a pair.
