Description of 🔊 Micca RB42-C: Dark Walnut Center Channel Bookshelf Speaker - Premium Audio with 4-Inch Woofers and Silk Tweeter

The Micca RB42-C is a handsomely styled center channel speaker that delivers a level of performance that belies its affordable price. With robust bass and midrange output and a silky smooth sound signature, it renders movie dialogue and music with clarity and authority. Each of the two 4-inch woofers is built on a truncated heavy steel frame and substantial magnet structure. Its long-throw design incorporates a coated pressed paper cone with a concave dust cap, large radius rubber surround, and vented pole piece. The tweeter is based on Micca’s popular 0.75-inch silk dome design, using a high-efficiency neodymium magnet and small bezel for tight driver spacing. The RB42-C owes its tonal balance and transparency to a 10-element crossover that uses high-grade film capacitors and air-core coils for key components. Both the tweeter and woofer circuits have an 18dB/octave slope to enhance power handling, dramatically reduced lobing, and superior off-axis performance. Dressed up in dark wood pattern and clean modern lines, this is a speaker you won’t feel the urge to hide. Its symmetrical design also means that the RB42-C can be used vertically as bookshelf speakers when purchased in a pair. Bring the theater experience home and enjoy all your movies from the best seat in the house!.

Excellent center channel

Great center channel so far. Switched to 80 Hertz, so obviously not a problem. Autocalibration rated it at 40Hz the first time, but I didn't want to overdo it. Later I'll see what I get out of it with a crossover. The micca center matched the tone of my old triangle speakers so it immediately took the place of my Pioneer sp-c22. The mids from the micca's center support vocals well, while the tweeter offers extended highs. Singing is great! I jumped at it when it was offered because I have some…

Amazing sound for the price

TL;DR GREAT SOUND FOR THE PRICE (pros) High and low detail. They can produce insanely low frequencies. Con) Port Pant at maximum volume. First, let me say that I don't consider myself an audiophile. Personally, I believe that when playing in, mechanical parts can come loose and sometimes change the sound. I haven't had them long enough to break them in properly, but first impressions are amazing. The packaging wasn't fancy, but they came with rubber feet. Just like rb42, they hit insanely low…

Nice compliment for a pair of RB42

Early days. Only a few days but so far I like it. In terms of sound, it "matches" the RB42, which I bought back in the summer. I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise, but I figured I liked what I heard too, at least in those early days. Brief Background: Far from being an "audiophile” in the strict sense of the word. but I think I know enough to recognize when something is edgy, boring, or edgy. This speaker is not included. I only have one to use in the center of my spare room. The room is…

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • Modern

In terms of looks and workmanship, these speakers are great: beautiful, elegant shape, subtle, tasteful look, very solid appearance. They don't feel like a $200 speaker set at all. With the MTM speaker layout, these speakers are much closer to normal speaker efficiency compared to the base RB42s (which are inefficient at 83dB due to their small size), but they have 86dB, which isn't particularly efficient, but in the right scale for decent speaker is in this price range. I can't compare these…

What they are and aren't

What it is: The perfect center channel for a pair of RB42s. Obviously that was her intention. The best speaker in this case size. You won't find anything that sounds as good with such small drivers in such a small package. Much more efficient than the RB42 and less aggressive bass. no worries. That price includes some amazing speakers, and if you don't really need the compactness they offer, you can get more for the money. Notable competitors in this price range are the Ascend Acoustics CBM-170

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Expensive

This is a great little center channel speaker. Well built and appears heavy and strong. I used to have a 90's JBL speaker but the rings were falling apart and as I was never entirely happy with it as it didn't have a crossover I decided it was time to upgrade it rather than refurbish it. I like this speaker, but in trying to cut off the harsh, penetrating high frequencies, they were too aggressive and clipped the high frequencies too much. I like the fact that you know you're hearing more that…

Wow. Just wow: center channel speakers

Based on the good reviews on her bookshelves my sister was looking for two channel speakers for the living room as I saw how they could play more I recommended these . When she received them we plugged them in and started playing music and you could tell they were made of a different fabric. I was so impressed that I immediately ordered a pair for my bedroom. Well I've had them for a few days now and they're impressive. Connected to the Yamaha R-S700, the sound was punchy, detailed but not…

Entry-level hi-fi speakers

If you're delving deep into the RB42-C reviews, you probably want to make a modest investment in a better AV experience, like I did. A few years ago I used a Samsung soundbar and subwoofer. With some media sources, certain titles on Netflix, etc., I couldn't hear the voices clearly enough, even from a couch about 6-8 minutes away. I did a little research before I bought anything. Eventually, I found out about Micca and delved into their product reviews. Z Reviews and Joe and Tell (Joe N Tell, I

Shockingly beautiful speaker with one caveat

Objectively these are absolutely amazing speakers for the price. First of all, as these are budget speakers, it seems appropriate to write this review based on my experience with them. in the budget system. I ordered two of these center channel speakers and am using them in my stereo setup. I use my computer's DAC and connect it to an SMSL SA-50 stereo amplifier to power these speakers. They are much more efficient than RB42. RB42 is rated at 83 dB; these speakers, RB42-C, have a noise level of
