🐦 K&H Pet Products Thermo-Perch - Heated Bird Perch in Small Gray Review

At first I liked this product but then I realized it burns my poor bird's feet. I will return the perch, too dangerous a product.

I wanted to tag this along with the side insulation. I double checked that I ordered a small one, but they gave me a tube. My cockatiel can't even grab half of the shaft.

If I could I would leave a ZERO rating, I would, but I can't, that's why I'm leaving a star. This product is dangerous. After connecting, my bird started screaming. Now she continues to raise her legs. My vet said she burned her feet. The plugin was so hot when I tried to disable it that it burned my hand. I don't know if it's normal or defective but in my experience I would use it very carefully and check often or just play it safe and not buy.

I bought this twice and the first time there was no problem but the second time seemed hotter. Great for older birds I've ordered, although it's smooth as Dickens there's always a solution - take a soft cloth, cut it in Strip and tie it in a few places. I have bought several heaters from this brand. One died so I bought another one. This updated version arrived today and we installed it (small for my eclectus) and it's so hot I can barely touch it. K&H, I am very disappointed! I bought this particular perch over 3 years ago which has been fantastic for 3 years but due to a recent move I reinstalled the perch and overtightened which broke the plastic screw. So I bought a new perch but found that it wasn't made the way it used to be. It ticks every few seconds for several days. That's awful. So I exchanged it for another and again pliers. Do not buy. We have had birds and parrots for over 35 years and have never seen a bird with burnt feet.
