I bought this twice and the first time there was no problem but the second time seemed hotter. I read all the reviews and finally decided to keep it because Lucky catches a cold and shakes easily, but this summer he started staggering and he got red and brown spots on his legs. He was still sitting on his choice, such a silly parrot. I took it out and after a few days he was better. It was scary. Don't trust your pet to tell you when it hurts. They are like little children sticking their hand in a hot oven. (They know they will.). It seemed hot, but fine in a cold house in winter, but too much in hot weather. TO UPDATE! My parrot has developed a toe infection which I am treating with antibiotic ointment and water supplements. He's getting better.
