I just ordered this for my gerbils but they can't work on it. They tried several times but they just slipped. The "bars" are much wider apart than on other wheels, and the plastic is very slippery. They kept slipping and won't use it. I considered putting duct tape on the tread for traction because I like the strong base and suction cups. However, when I fully tighten the screw, it becomes difficult to turn. I would have to leave the screw 1/2 turn loose for the wheel to spin but that's not sure so I'm sending it back. It's a shame because I really like the design.
