The plastic steering wheel works better.
I bought a cheaper depot pulley which had a metal wheel and heated the wheel and melted it through the matching wire coating within 2 weeks. This has happened to me twice. I updated this pulley and have had no problems since. I use it three or four times a week for about four weeks. I would recommend it.
