Make canele cheaper than metal molds!

I've been experimenting with French pastries and desserts and have come across several canelé recipes. After doing some research and finding out that traditional metal/tin molds were EXTREMELY expensive, I really wasn't ready to invest that much in the baked goods I was experimenting with. So I'm glad I found these silicones. to Raven! For a fraction of the cost of the metal molds I found this to be a great deal. I've never had silicone bakeware before so I re-learned how to use and care for them. My first attempt at making canele wasn't exactly perfect, but I blame it on "operator error" as I don't think I left them in the oven long enough to actually get that kind of "burnt sugar". I found the baking in this pan to be a bit uneven as some of the cakes came out a lot easier than others. I also find that they would be clearer if I did them in metal bowls. They popped out of the pan effortlessly so they didn't stick. (Hooray!) All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase and will look for other ways to use this baking pan (and I promise to master that darn canelée). LOL Thanks for reading.
