Almost perfect though.

I was looking for a more portable carbon fiber tripod that is lighter than my compact Gitzo Mountaineer Series 2 and Traveler tripods. Going out to shoot was like Goldilocks balancing between too hot and too cold (in the case of a tripod that was too heavy and too light). With multiple tripod heads and a gimbal to get the job done, all I really needed was a sturdy pair of legs. I was intrigued by the Fastbowl concept so I watched a few YouTube videos from current users before purchasing this tripod. It looked interesting enough that the price of a carbon fiber tripod was about what I was willing to pay for another and hopefully definitive tripod. The delivery was quick and the item arrived in perfect condition. All movements are smooth, tolerances are acceptable. Maximum headroom with both leg sections extended was higher than I would need for standing position shooting (I'm 5ft 9in) leaving most of the lower leg in the top tube. Leveling the tripod head is very easy with the middle tripod grip. Simply twist, align, and then tighten with a quick twist. There is a spirit level on the platform but it's really in the wrong place. on the platform. It's not really a problem if your tripod head has its own spirit level, but if it doesn't you'll need to find another solution. I gave this tripod 5 stars because the design, fit, finish and handling are exemplary. However, I'm a bit disappointed that the tripod didn't pass my vibration test. Even without fully stretching all leg parts, you can feel the tapping of your finger on the tube on the platform, which translates into vibration. I realize this is a $300 tripod and not a $900 model from Gitzo, but it's still something carbon fiber should do away with. Apparently the diameter of the pipe is not enough to control the vibration. If you're using this tripod for sports or wildlife photography, that's no problem. In any case, you usually work with shutter speeds of around 1/250 and 1/500 seconds. If you're considering using this tripod for high-magnification macro photography, you might want to reconsider your decision.
